The title of this post is based on two things:
1. It's almost time for me to fly to Melbourne
2. It's almost time to head back home
Melbourne is obviously the more immediate flight - Julie and I take-off at 6 a.m. tomorrow morning to ensure we can spend 3 full days there. Our taxi is picking us up at 4:30, and we are feeling pretty proud of ourselves for figuring out our flights, transportation, hostel, and activities while we're there. We're also looking forward to the Melbourne weather - Sydney has been cold and rainy the past couple days. [Side note: Choosing to not bring a jacket of any kind to Australia was not the greatest idea. "Sydney is 360 days a year of sunshine" proved to be completely false and I have wished I had a jacket many times. Especially when going to work - it needs to warm up, or they're going to see me wearing the same (rather unprofessional) sweatshirt for the next 2 weeks!] I'm sure we're going to have a great time, can't wait for another adventure!
The second part, heading back home, is coming up pretty quickly too - 17 days. This led me to think about everything I'm going to miss here with
* Tim Tams
* Aussie accents
* Great Thai food
* The ocean & beaches
* Train rides over Sydney Harbour
being some of the first things that come to mind. Of course there are many more things that I probably won't even realize I miss until I get home.
Only a week and a half left of classes, and two left of work - so those are also great things to look forward to. And two weeks left of work until I get back to the U.S. at least - landing April 21 and heading to the Daily on April 22, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
BEA - You continue to amaze us - in all the right ways! What adventures/experiences you are having and have had. Didn't even get a chance to comment on your previous introspective blog which was SUPER. We're eager to hear about Melbourne. Have a great time! - JEKB
ReplyDelete'Ello Bailey! You have been quite blog the machine as of late. Are you trying to run me out of animals? You know this won't happen. I'm sure you and Julie are getting ready to fly. Hope you have an awesome time! Take lots of pics. I can't wait to hear about all of your adventures. While you are there, I expect you to hug a spider monkey. Love you, dad
