Good Friday Boat Cruise

One of the most noticeable benefits of attending Australian Catholic University is that they take the Easter holiday very seriously. No class Friday or Monday means a much longer weekend than I would be having at the U. Really though, all of Australia takes Easter very seriously, which means no work either and a couple extra days off! They really go all out here - an Easter parade, Easter-themed ads like crazy (I'd be a disappointing Advertising major if I didn't notice and comment on it!) and much more. Truthfully, my roommates and I are just pretty excited to buy some discounted Easter candy Monday morning!

The last couple weeks have been exhausting - lots of middle of the night Skype sessions combined with a busy schedule - so the past couple days have been mostly about relaxing. Julie and I stayed in Thursday night and watched Lucky Number Slevin [I've really been getting a movie education here], and I spent Friday lounging around watching Game of Thrones. I'm officially addicted.

Friday night basically everyone in our program bought tickets to a Good Friday Boat Cruise, as almost everywhere in the city is closed for the holiday. We all had a great time hanging out together for the night!

I took this morning to catch up on my sleep, and we're all hanging around the apartment right now. Today is Tim's 21st birthday, so we're planning on going out for a nice dinner tonight and seeing where the evening takes us - but celebrating is a must!

Tomorrow, Julie and I are going to walk from Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach, and we all might be going to church for Easter.

Cheers, until next time!

  1. G'Day Bailey! Happy Easter!! It sounds like your boat cruise was a blast! The pics you posted looked very nice. So nice to hear that you are getting some time to relax. You most definitely deserve it. Hope you had a great night last night. The fam is getting ready to go to Sally's for lunch. We will have some popcorn for you. When you are finished resting, I need you to sneak away and hug a Banded Hare Wallaby on this Easter day. Love and miss you, dad
