The Fam

The most incredible thing happened at 6:30 on Monday morning: my family (my mom, Paxton, and my grandma) arrived in Sydney!

I had to work and go to class all day Monday, but at 5:00 that evening, I was knocking on the door of their hotel room and barely able to contain my excitement. I may or may not have cried upon seeing them for the first time in a couple months.

I've gotten to spend the past couple of days experiencing some of my favorite places in Sydney with them - Pancakes on the Rocks, the Australian Hotel, Manly Beach, and The Rocks area in general. Today, they are coming to see my apartment before we wander around my neighborhood and visit a couple of my other favorite places - California Burrito and Messina Gelato. [Notice that a lot of my favorite places revolve around food?]

In the next few days we will get to do many more things together, and I'm so excited for the chance to show them my city and spend time with everyone. Until they got here, I hadn't fully realized just how much I was missing everyone back home. These next 6 weeks are going to be a blast, but I now know how much I'm looking forward to coming home to all my favorite familiar faces.

I probably won't be posting much for the next few days as I try and spend as much time with them as humanly possible - just know that I am having a blast catching up with the fam!

It was incredibly weird to take a plane home from Cairns this past weekend and not end up in Minnesota, but I am happy to say that the next time I get off a plane, it will be in Los Angeles on my way home.

Miss you all, cheers!

  1. 'Ello Bailey! I love seeing this post. I can just imagine how happy and excited you are to have mom, Paxton and grandma there. I know how happy and excited they were to see you as well. Take advantage of everything this week(you know what I mean) with the fam around. You know how much I wish I was there with them. These next 6 weeks are going to fly by so keep soakin it all in. While having the fam around, I feel it would be appropriate for the whole fam to hug a Fluffy Glider. I am putting you in charge of this mission bud. Enjoy the rest of your time with the fam. Love, Dad

  2. Hi Bailey - It's great fun reading about your reunion with the traveling trio! I know they are equally excited to be there, see you, and experience lots of new adventures. Here the country roads are a real mess - a mixture of ice, snow, slush, and mud - with a possibility of more wintry weather the next few days. That should make you extra happy to be where you are. Enjoy every minute with your guests - relatively speaking! Much love from Bestefar
